Hart AgStrong LLC designs, builds and operates value-added oilseed processing plants in the southern United States. To support this core business, AgStrong establishes relationships with local farmers and agricultural input suppliers by contracting production acres for non-gmo canola and sunflower seeds. Integration of its business model includes marketing the high value oil and resultant meal, as well as developing cropping systems to maximize profitability on every acre.

 

Hart AgStrong LLC produces excellent quality non-GMO and expeller pressed canola and sunflower oil in our strategically located regional processing facilities.  AgStrong has undertaken to establish these facilities in a structure where farmers can participate in the ownership and therefore the dividends associated with the value-added.

Growing Canola & Sunflower

Canola & Sunflower  are a profitable cropping option for many regions of the southeastern United States and it also brings diversity in terms of cropping rotations.

 

Both Canola & Sunflower are grown for its seed which is crushed for the oil used in food manufacturing industry. The properties of the oils fits with the current view that human health is better served by increasing the intake of mono and poly unsaturated fats in place of saturated fats. After the oil is extracted, the by-product is a protein-rich meal used by the intensive livestock industries.

 

 


Our Food-Grade Oils are:

 

  • non-GMO

 

  • Low in saturated fat: 7% of total fatty acids, lower than any other common cooking or salad oil

 

  • A source of omega-6 fat: 22% of total fatty acids

 

  • High in omega-3 fat: 11% of total fatty acids, the most of any common culinary oil.

 

  • Rich in monounsaturated fat: 61% of total fatty acids

 

  • Cholesterol and trans fat free

New Processing Plant!

October 14

  • Hart AgStrong LLC is currently building a 23,000 square foot canola oilseed processing plant off Highway 41 in Trenton, Kentucky with plans to create 25 full-time jobs in Todd County.

 

- Hart AgStrong is building the new facility    to be closer to canola seed farmers in western Kentucky. Since 2006, the company has been building relationships with local farmers by contracting oilseed production acres. Stay Tuned for the Grand Opening!
