ASTRONG FARMER/SUPPLIER RELATIONSHIPS

While farmers are independent producers that can easily change their planting decisions from year to year, AgStrong builds strong relationships with farmers that co-invested in the plant to ensure sustainable feedstock.

At the same time that southern farmers are seeking replacements for lower-demand cotton and tobacco crops, AgStrong has developed farm development programs to educate southern farmers on the benefits of growing Canola. Not only is Canola one of the most profitable crops southern farmers can grow, it can also be grown in the winter and double-cropped along with the usual summer crops.

Hart AgStrong purchases Canola and Sunflower seeds from it family farm network, crushes and processes the seed at it's Bowersville, GA and Trenton, KY processing facilities, and then develops products for distribution in the commerical markets.
Crop Consulting

Hart AgStrong will provide the farmer ongoing support from seed selection, soil preparation, planting techniques, crop maintenance, and harvesting. In addition, Cropping Systems solutions is available to ensure profitable production.

With AgStrong as the farmer's partner, a successful harvest is improved greatly as the learner curve of planting a new crop is dropped dramatically.

Refining/Processing

AgStrong's refineries use the Expeller Pressed method, which is a hexane/chemical free process. It is a mechanical, screw-press method of extracting oil from the canola seed. It stands in contrast to solvent extraction processing, which typically uses the hexane to extract oil from the seed, which is been proven to inhibit and damge the quality, health benefits, and fat/protein content.

Expeller-pressed canola meal has a  higher oil content, which results in a higher protein/energy content and healthy fat profile.

Logistics

Until the Bowersville, Georgia refinery was brought into operation, the oil was shipped by rail to a refinery in the West, which was cost prohibitive for southeast farmers.

Now with our refinery coming into operation in Trenton, Kentucky along with the Bowersvile facility, we have been able to connect directly with end users and dramatically reduce transportation costs.

Market Distribution

AgStrong is developing new markets for oilseed products and will be continually and aggresively expanding its customer base for the bulk oil and the meal products to ensure a constant demand as planted acreage increases.

Some of the exciting opportunities discovered by AgStrong to date include providing feedstock for the replacement of traditional petroleum-based products.
